Temperature about 17°C overcast. Langstroth Hive 1 - No change in queen laying rate (still slow). No drone brood yet. Langstroth Hive 2 - Introduced queen released and spotted. Hive given about 3 litres sugar syrup. Langstroth Hive 3 - Queen prolifically laying. Brood split. Two frames of capped brood and old queen transferred to Horizontal Hive 2. Queen cells observed in a cluster. Three of these destroyed except one capped. Old queen artificially swarmed to Horizontal Hive 2. About two litres of sugar syrup given. Horizontal Hive 1 - Introduced queen not released. Manually released her. Hive given about two litres of sugar syrup.
