Mid-May Inspection 15/05/2016

A lovely warm day, calm and sunny. Langstroth Hive 1 appears blitzed by Varroa as evidenced in the increased number worker bees with deformed wings (DWV). Langstroth Hive 2 progressing in colony build-up. Queens laying in both of these hives, but not identified during the inspections. The National Hive doing well too in build-up. The queen observed trapped in the jumbo box above. Queen excluder placed above the Jumbo box. Drone brood destroyed and any queen cups.
