The old colony has grown and the hive is full of adult bees. A few queen cells/cups constructed but not yet sealed. All removed. There is truly a lull in nectar flow, resulting in robbing the other hive. Lots of drones and capped drone cells. Despite steps taken to discourage robbing, it is still going on. For the first time robber bees have been able to sniff the stored frames in the garage, something that never happened before. Have moved the queen exluder to the top of the super above the brood box, hopefully this might delay or discourage swarming. Can't wait to see the results of this experiment.
