Preparing For Winter

Today I took the bold step of insulating the colony raised from the nuc using a weather-proofed quilt insulation. Also fed this colony. Observed to have large reserves of honey stores (10 frames with sealed honey). Placed 2 bags of 1kg cane sugar. The 'swarm' colony was also fed but the insulation to be undertaken later during the week coming.
