Ridding of Drone Layer(s)

This morning I opened up the hive, captured the new queen that had been released overnight from her cage, re-caged her carefully and proceded to put her aside safely. I took the brood box about 20 feet away from the hive position and unceremoniously brushed all the bees on to the ground. There was some frenzied buzzing about, but the bees did not bother me a bit. I returned the brood box with beeless frames back to its original position. Replaced the caged queen(candy sealed) between the frames, fed the colony with sugar syrup and replaced the queen excluder, crownboard and hive roof. A few hours later, all the bees had managed to fly back to the hive and hopefully the drone layers did not find their way back! Will check again in 2 days' time.
