A cool to warm morning. Langstroth 1. No queen, no fresh brood or eggs identified. Langstroth Hive 3 - No queen observed. Queen cells on frames placed last week still not hatched. National Hive 4 - Steady increase in bee population. Queen profusely laying. Bees storing nectar in super. One frame of newly laid eggs transferred to National Hive 6. National Hive 5 - captured swarm from the weekend had not managed to chew its way through the newspaper to unite with bees in brood box below. Many observed to have starved to death. Emergency sugar syrup feed given and newspaper seal removed. National Hive 6 - No queen, no fresh brood or eggs. Frame with freshly laid eggs imported from National Hive 4.
