10/06/2017 Inspection

Rain has just stopped and the sun has come out triggering swarm. Observed where it was about to cluster but then as quickly as it swarmed, the cluster dispersed and the bees started bearding at Langstroth Hive 1 entrance. Proceeded with normal hive inspection. National Hive 4 - colony active and progressing steadily. Queen spotted and laying. Drone cells being constructed. Langstroth Hive 1 - presumably swarmed earlier but cannot be sure as bees had been observed flying back. Hive very congested. Queen not spotted. Several sealed queen cells. One frame of brood and sealed queen cell transferred to Langstroth Hive 3. Replaced brood frame with frame with foundation. National Hive 5 - put in frame with brood and queen cell from National Hive 6. National Hive 6 - Queen spotted and appears not very active in laying. Took one brood frame with queen cell to National Hive 5. Sugar syrup fed this tonight at dusk.
