June Gap Inspection 25/06/2016

The bees have been observed to being short of enough foraging through their behaviour of literally 'swarming' the car garage where old frames in spare super boxes are stored. Langstroth Hive 1 - no brood, queen not spotted. All likelihood a sawrm took place earlier in the week. Langstroth Hive 2 - similar situation to Hive 1. Langstroth Hive 3 - a 'nuc' created a fortnight ago. Nothing significant on inspection. No virgin queen spotted. National Hive 1 - queen not spotted. Fresh and young brood observed. Likelihood that the queen is about. Jumbo super heavily ladden with honey stores and placed on top of two other supers with a clearer board beneath it. Hardly any varroa mite fall in this hive. National Hive 2 - 'nuc' created a fortnight ago. Nothing to suggest that the creation was a success. National Hive 3 - 'nuc' created a few weeks ago. Nothing to suggest that the creation was a success.
