A very cool day for an inspection after a week of heat wave. Langstroth Hive 1 build-up progressing steadily. A nummber of queen cells observed. Two frames with queen cells and brood transferred to a spare empty hive Langstroth Hive 3. The rest of the queen cells (open/sealed) destroyed (hoping the old queen has not yet swamped. Queen not observed.
Langstroth Hive 2 also steadily building up in nummber of bees. Queen not observed. All identified queen cells (unsealed and sealed) destroyed, again hoping that the old queen is still in.
National Hive 3 still heavily congested with bees. Many queen cells (unsealed and sealed) observed. Two frames with both queen cells and brood transferred to a spare empty national. The old queen observed and the rest of the unsealed and sealed queen cells destroyed. The jumbo super getting heavier and heavier by the week with honey. Much of the stored honey is sealed.
