2014 First Spring/Summer Inspection

Hive 1 - Hive congested of bees and swarming eminent. Two frames with brood and nurse bees transferred to empty Hive 3. Numerous queen cells all capped removed bar two. Ample honey stores in Hive 1 with one super having capped honey. Capped honey frame removed. Hive 2 - Queen laying, and brood present in several frames. No queen cells observed. Ample stores of honey in brood box as well as in a few frames in one of the supers. Hive 3 - Two frames with brood and nurse bees transferred from Hive 1. Enclosed bees till dark then reduced the entrance in case of robbing the following day. Hive 4 - Empty. Hive 5 - Queen laying well with a few frames with brood. Ample honey stores in the brood box. No queen cells observed.
